$40,000 Assistance amounts for down payment and closing costs varies based on income level of applicant: Up to $40,000 is available for very low income (50% AMI) borrowers Up to $30,000 is available for low income (80% AMI) borrowers Up to $20,000 is available for moderate income (120% AMI) borrowers NOTE: for all categories, up to $5,000 of the assistance can be used for repairs to existing homes.

In order to be considered for the SHIP Down Payment Assistance Program, you will need to consult with Consumer Debt Counselors and determine your mortgage readiness.
