Per Agency in regard to Lenders: Please note that for lenders to participate in our program they have to be lender certified and this is only done once a year and it requires mandatory participation in a lender certification class. We are also only certifying lenders located in the Sarasota/Bradenton area with loan originators located in those offices. Buyer must be a first-time home buyer.

CDBG funding is provided as a subordinate mortgage at 0% interest deferred loan for 30 years with forgiveness at the end of the term.

Maximum Assistance

$45,000 Maximum per unit assistance will vary based on income: Up to $45,000 for very-low (50% AMI) income households; Up to $40,000 for low (80% AMI) income households. (Assistance includes up to $6,000 for closing costs)

Education Requirements Info:

Homebuyer’s must complete an eight hour Manatee County approved or HUD certified First Time Homebuyer’s Education Class prior to receiving CDBG assistance.
